Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a prominent American politician, attorney, author, and the 44th President of the United States, serving two terms from 2009 to 2017. Raised in a diverse family, his mother, Ann Dunham, was American, while his father, Barack Obama Sr., was from Kenya. His parents divorced when he was young.

After spending part of his childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia, Obama returned to the U.S. to study at Occidental College, then transferred to Columbia University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Later, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he made history as the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review.

Before entering national politics, Obama worked as a community organizer in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He was elected to the U.S. Senate from Illinois in 2004, and five years later he won the presidency. During his time as president, he passed landmark legislation including the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”), managed the economic recovery after the global financial crisis, and ordered the military operation that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden.

On a more personal level, Obama has also made a name for himself as a best-selling author. His books include Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance (1995) and The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (2006). After leaving office, he published A Promised Land (2020), which sold very well and contributed to his post-presidential income.

As for his net worth, Barack Obama is estimated to be worth around $70 million. This wealth comes from a combination of book royalties, lucrative speaking engagements (he reportedly earns up to $400,000 per speech), and media deals—for example, he and his wife co-founded a production company, Higher Ground Productions, which partnered with Netflix.

Barack Obama has been married to Michelle Obama (née Robinson) since October 3, 1992. Contrary to occasional tabloid rumors, there is no public record of a Barack Obama divorce; the couple remains together, and they have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Among his many honors, Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, recognized for his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation.
